Jannita created major events in her district by creating partnerships with anyone who could help her elementary classroom of second language learners. She forged relationships with the county office of education, film studios, television stations, and other local schools. Her students virtually visited around the world, attended premieres and were social agents for change.
Jannita has traveled the country presenting to thousands of teachers on how to integrate technology into the classroom. Prior to arriving at Discovery, Jannita was a classroom teacher in the Anaheim City School District. While there she developed an after school ELD program, worked as a producer and editor in the district's Kids News program, participated in the Galapagos Project, and facilitated PTA family nights with Warner Bros. and Dreamworks Pictures. She was Teacher of the Year at her elementary school after only five years in the classroom.
Jannita is married and lives in Orange County California.
